Keyshare Management and Security
Arx nodes store and manage their key shares for each of the MXEs associated with the Clusters that each node is a member of. The storage and security of these key shares is essential for nodes to actively participate in the Arcium Network's MPC protocols.
More sophisticated node setups may choose to store their key shares inside of Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs). By choosing to store key shares within the secure enclave of a TEE (within the machine's processor), key shares are entirely inaccessible to other processes on the same machine, ensuring the highest possible confidentiality and data integrity. Some computation types require Arx nodes that provide TEEs, therefore nodes that offer a TEE will attract lucrative work.
See the Key Share Distribution and Security section for more on how key share distribution and management occurs in the broader Cluster context.
